Chantarelle Commons
-Where Nature Inspires Fitness
In Täby, the old racecourse will be developed into a completely new area with apartments and parks. The focus is on creating a neighborhood that promotes biodiversity and benefits the residents of Täby.
In this new neighborhood, the municipality strives to encourage physical activity and exercise.
With this project, I want to explore the idea of a person’s best-kept secret - where they find their chanterelle mushrooms.
I have proposed creating a public place for everyone to enjoy chanterelles, where they can both exercise and play among the mushrooms. For example, one can exercise using the roots of the mushrooms or perform step-up exercises on a chanterelle. At the top of the roots, you can see a chanterelle that spreads light over the area, which contributes to safety and allows visibility during the dark months in Sweden. Through this design proposal, I aim to encourage exercise to become a playful activity.
